1. CANDIDATES

Nominations have now closed. We have four official candidates.

Fluffs the Naasty  Feline Witch.......... (Campaign manager: Siva)

2. MANIFESTOS

Candidates are urged to publish their manifestos ASAP. Fluffs is publishing hers as part of PAWS, updated tonight, Feb 13, on InShades. The other candidates should rush theirs to Zeon for inclusion on InShades as soon as possible.
 

3. CAMPAIGNING

There will be roughly two weeks for campaigning, starting 0001 Monday 1 Feb, Valentine's Day which will be appropriate for certain smooth talking candidates.

We hope to see lots of flesh pressing, baby kissing, mudslinging and dirt. Candidates should take every opportunity to make impromptu speeches, and run each other down.

Formal debates can be arranged if candidates are willing to risk making utter fools of themselves. Hecklers brush up on insults and stockpile
snowballs for hurling (assuming Xmas version stays up.)
 

4. DATE OF ELECTION

In order to accomodate both weekend and weekday Shadists, as well as day and evening and dead-of-night players, the polls will be open for three days starting midnight on Friday 25/26 Feb until midnight Monday 28/29 Feb (it IS is a leap year isn't it?)
 

4. WHO CAN VOTE?

Everyone. If you play Shades you can vote.

We were thinking of a proportional representation system, but administratively it would be a nightmare, so we have got a first past the
post system, but . . .

Since most PLAYERS have more than one CHARACTER on the game, we have decided to give each PLAYER 5 votes, to be assigned to five different characters.

For example, player Fred Bloggs  could nominate

Badjoke the Backfiring Wizard..........................(1 vote)
Fleealot the cowardly Necromancer................(1 vote)
Crazeii the Nutcase Enchantress......................(1 vote)
Hobbledog the Limping Valiant..........................(1 vote)
Newgirl the Pretending2bA Novice..................(1 vote)

Each persona can vote for any candidate. They don't all have to vote the same.
 

5. REGISTERING TO VOTE

In order to keep this manageable and eliminate cheating, only personas listed on the electoral register will be entitled to vote.

To register, send an email to

shades_election@hotmail.com    (shades_election@hotmail.com)

listing your five chosen personas. If some of these personas are on different accounts, please say so, but DO NOT give account numbers or
passwords.

Those who want to keep their seconds secret can email just one name stating the reason and this will be assigned five votes.

WARNING: DO NOT be tempted to register more than five of your personas, even if they are on different accounts, because we know who they belong to. ONLY ONE EMAIL PER PLAYER PLEASE.
 

6. VOTING ARRANGEMENTS ON THE DAY

You can vote on Shades during the polling period, if the Returning Officer Kali is on. The polling station will be the Public Bar of the Ye Olde Shalking Toppe Pubbe or such other location as the RO shall deem fit.

7. COUNTING AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS

Counting will commence Tuesday 29 February and the results will be announced on Shades later that day at a time and location to be confirmed and also on InShades
